October 14, 2009 - Public Hearing minutes

PUBLIC HEARING  – DANUBE CITY COUNCIL – OCTOBER 14, 2009

Mayor Gene Allex called a public hearing to order at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 to consider paving 2nd Street East in Danube Councilmembers present:  Sharon Lothert, Al Strunc, Les Schneider, Sr., and Ryan Bentley.  Absent: None

Also present:  Several Danube residents that own property along 2nd Street East

The residents were given an estimate of what the assessment would be on their property, if the street project would be completed.  The street would cost each property owner $47.40 per foot of their property along the 2nd Street East and the drive over curb would cost $9.90 per foot.  These are rough estimates based on an estimated project cost put together.

During the hearing, the council voted on paving 2nd Street East.  Voting against paving 2nd Street East were Gene Allex, Sharon Lothert, Les Schneider, Sr. and Ryan Bentley.  Voting in favor of paving the street was Al Strunc.  Due to the vote, the project will not move ahead any further at this time.  It would be reconsidered if the property owners bring a signed petition to the City asking for the street to be paved.

At 6:35 p.m., a motion was made by Sharon Lothert to adjourn the meeting.  Ryan Bentley seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Respectfully submitted:  Sara Wilson, City Clerk
